The Ogden Raptors, a Pioneer League team, spark weekly enthusiasm at Lindquist Field in downtown Ogden. Weber State's football and basketball teams consistently rank in the top of the Big Sky Conference. The Utah Jazz, a premier NBA basketball team, play in Salt Lake City-only 40-minutes to the south.
The Ogden Marathon, XTERRA Mountain Championship races, and the new XTERRA Winter World Championships are popular events each year. During the Harvest Moon Celebration, the Mountain to Metro combines kayaking, cycling, and running. The Ogden City Recreation Division also sponsors baseball, basketball, and other programs for all age groups.

Ski & Recreation Industry

Ogden is the prime location for outdoor related business and recreation. Downtown Ogden's unique environment has recently attracted 11 snow sport related companies: Atomic, Descent North America, DNA, Goode Ski Technologies, Kahuna Creations, Nidecker Snowboards, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott USA, Snowsports Interactive, and Suunto. Peregrine Outfitters, a wholesale distributor of outdoor accessories, plans to open a warehouse in Ogden. Other outdoor product related businesses are expected to continue moving headquarters to "The Hub" in the near future.
